We would rather lose the sale than misrepresent the number

DEFI Motorsports is an engine calibration shop in Corona, California. Half our work is done on our own dyno with the customer standing there. The other half ships anywhere in the country. Both halves get the same answer to the same question.

What we actually do

We write engine calibrations. That means fuelling, spark, torque management, throttle response and boost control developed against a specific engine controller and a specific set of modifications — not a generic file with your badge on it.

Some of that work has to happen here, on the dyno, under load. Some of it can be developed and delivered to your driveway. Which one applies to your vehicle is decided by the vehicle, not by what is convenient for us to sell.

The part most shops leave out

Power costs something. More cylinder pressure means more heat and more stress on parts that were specified for the factory figure. Fuel economy usually falls. A tuned vehicle is not smog-legal in California. We say that on the product page, not in the small print, and we will turn down work when the combination does not support what is being asked of it.

That is also why we publish our dyno methodology in full. Numbers in this industry are easy to inflate and nearly impossible to challenge afterwards, so we put the method in writing in advance and invite you to hold us to it.

Still to be added

Named technicians and the full equipment inventory belong on this page, and there is still no photograph of the team itself in the media library — the one asset that most affects the Google Business Profile.
