Warranty
What is covered, what is not, and what modification does to your factory warranty.
We give no warranty
DEFI Motorsports offers no warranty, express or implied, on calibration work, on hardware supplied by third parties, or on any outcome of modification. There is no satisfaction guarantee.
This is stated plainly rather than buried because it is the term most likely to matter to you later.
Third-party hardware keeps its own warranty
The RTD4 interface, cables and adapters are manufactured by others. Whatever warranty those manufacturers provide runs directly between you and them, independently of us, and we neither extend it nor stand behind it.
If a device fails, tell us — we will point you at the right manufacturer process, because we deal with them constantly. That is help, not a warranty.
What modification does to your factory warranty
A manufacturer can decline a warranty claim where a modification caused the failure. In the United States the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act means they cannot void your entire warranty simply because a part is aftermarket — but calibration changes are detectable, dealers do look, and a driveline claim on a tuned car is a fight you may lose.
Assume that engine and driveline coverage is at risk from the moment a calibration is flashed. If keeping that coverage intact matters more than the power does, say so before you buy and we will tell you honestly whether to proceed.
What power actually costs
More power is not free. It is bought with some combination of longevity, fuel economy and emissions compliance, and components specified for the factory output will see more than they were designed for.
We will tell you which trade you are making before you buy. We will not pretend there is no trade.
Revisions are not a warranty
Most cars want at least one revision after the first drive, and that is a normal part of the work rather than a fault being fixed. Send us a datalog and we will refine the calibration. How that works is set out on our revisions and aftercare page.
