$285 per reviewYour logs or dyno data, read by a calibrator, with written findings and next steps

Before and after dyno curves overlaid for a C8 Corvette Stingray, showing the gain from a DEFI Motorsports calibration

Who this is for

You were tuned somewhere else and something is not right. Your tuner has stopped answering. You bought a car with somebody else’s tune on it. You have a dyno sheet that does not match what you were promised and want to know why. You are about to add parts and want to know whether the car is healthy enough to take them.

In every one of those cases the data already exists. It needs somebody who reads it for a living to look at it without anything to sell you.

How it works

Buy the review and we contact you the next business day with where to send the files. Send the datalogs — and the tune file if you have it — plus your modification list and what the car is doing. A calibrator reads them and writes back what the data shows: fuelling, timing, knock, boost control, sensors, and anything that should not be there.

You get written findings and a recommended next step. Sometimes that is a part, sometimes it is a retune, sometimes it is "stop driving it until this is fixed". We say which, even when the answer is not us.

  • HP Tuners VCM Scanner and TDN logs
  • Holley, Link, Haltech, Emtron, MoTeC and other standalone logs
  • Dyno sheets and run files, from any dyno, with the conditions
  • Tune files we can open, alongside the logs they produced

What it is not

It is a review, not a retune — nothing is written to your car. If the answer is that the car needs calibration, that is a separate job, and you will know before you spend the money. Data that did not come from us is judged on what it shows; we do not guess at what we cannot see, and we will tell you if the logs are too thin to call.

What is included

  • A calibrator reads your logs and files
  • Written findings

  • A follow-up call if you want one

What to bring

  • Datalogs from the drive or pull where the problem happens
  • The tune file, if you have it
  • Your modification list and fuel
  • Any dyno sheets

Common questions

How fast do I hear back?
We contact you the next business day to collect the files, and most reviews are written up within a few business days of receiving them. A car that looks unsafe to drive gets a call, not an email.
Does it count toward a tune?
No. The review is a standalone piece of work at $285, priced the same as an in-shop diagnosis.
Will you tell me my last tuner did a bad job?
We will tell you what the data shows. If the calibration has a problem we will say so plainly, and if the problem is a part, a sensor or the fuel, we will say that instead.
