Text message terms

What the messaging programme is, in the detail a carrier asks for and a customer can actually check.

The programme

FastUTV LLC, doing business as DEFI Motorsports, sends text messages to customers and to people who have asked for them. Messages come from (951) 405-4465 — the shop’s own number, the one you call, not a short code and not a number you will not recognise.

Three kinds of message travel on it, and they are registered together because they share a number:

  • Order and account messages — your HP Tuners order number, confirmation that your module reached Illinois, that your calibration is ready, that a parcel is on its way.
  • Conversation — you text the shop, somebody reads it and answers. This is the ordinary use of a phone number.
  • Marketing — new platforms we support, dyno sheets worth seeing, occasional offers. Only if you asked for it.

How you get on it

For marketing, by filling in the sign-up at /sms/ and ticking a box that is never pre-ticked. You type the number yourself, and the sentence you tick is recorded verbatim along with its version, the page and the moment — so what we can prove is what you actually saw.

Consent is not a condition of purchase. Every product and every service on this site can be bought, booked and completed without giving us a number to text, and nothing costs more because you did not.

For order messages, by placing an order and giving us a number. Texting you about work you asked us to do is not marketing, and it is not the same permission.

We do not buy, rent, append or scrape numbers, and a number given so we could call you does not become a marketing number.

Frequency and cost

Msg frequency varies. In practice, a few marketing messages a month at most, plus whatever your order generates — which on a locked-module order is a handful over a couple of weeks.

Msg & data rates may apply. We do not charge you anything for a text message; your own carrier may charge you at your plan rate, and that is between you and them. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Stopping it, and getting help

Reply STOP to cancel. STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END and QUIT all work, case does not matter, and it is handled by the phone network rather than by us — so it does not wait for anyone to read it. You will get one confirmation message and then nothing.

Reply HELP for help, or call the shop on (951) 405-4465 during opening hours.

You do not have to use a keyword. Tell us to stop by any reasonable method — phone, the contact form, or saying it to somebody at the counter — and it counts.

Read the one-number consequence below before you rely on STOP.

One number carries all three

Marketing, order updates and conversation all come from (951) 405-4465. The trade-off is that STOP is handled per number, not per kind of message: it stops everything from us, including the message telling you where your ECM is.

If it is only the marketing you want to stop, call (951) 405-4465 or use the contact page instead of replying STOP, and we will take you off marketing by hand and leave your order alone. If you have already replied STOP and want the order messages back, call us.

Supported carriers, and what we cannot promise

Messages are delivered through the major US carriers and most regional ones. We cannot guarantee delivery on every network, and neither we nor the carriers are liable for a message that arrives late or not at all — which is why nothing on this site depends on a text message to work. Anything you can do by text you can do by phone.

Your information

We do not sell or share your number for anyone else’s marketing. What we hold, where it lives and what you can ask us for is set out in our privacy policy, and RingCentral — our phone and messaging provider — is named in it.

If you have a complaint about a message rather than a question about the programme, the complaint policy sets out how to make one and how fast we act.
