IMPORTANT - ASSUMPTION OF RISK & RELEASE OF LIABILITY
I understand that dyno testing, custom or remote tuning, ECU/TCU flashing, datalogging, road testing, performance modification, and related services can place substantial stress on a vehicle and can expose, accelerate, or cause mechanical, electrical, drivetrain, tire/wheel, module/ECU, or other failures, including catastrophic failure, property damage, fire, loss of use, injury, or death. I represent that I own the vehicle or am authorized by its owner, have disclosed known defects and modifications, and voluntarily assume these risks.
For remote tuning, I accept the risks of inaccurate information, hardware/software incompatibility, interrupted flashing, communication or power loss, ECU/TCU corruption or “bricking,” recovery/towing costs, and Customer-controlled datalogging. I will operate and test the vehicle only safely and lawfully.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, I RELEASE AND WAIVE CLAIMS AGAINST FASTUTV LLC D/B/A DEFI MOTORSPORTS AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, TUNERS, TECHNICIANS, AGENTS, CONTRACTORS, AFFILIATES, AND INSURERS ARISING FROM THE INHERENT RISKS OF THE SERVICES OR THEIR ORDINARY NEGLIGENCE IN PERFORMING THE AUTHORIZED SERVICES.
I understand that DEFI does not guarantee horsepower, reliability, component life, drivability, emissions compliance, warranty coverage, or any particular result. I am responsible for legal/emissions compliance and for stopping vehicle operation if warning signs or abnormal conditions occur. This release does not waive liability or rights that applicable law does not permit to be waived. I have reviewed and agree to the full DEFI Motorsports Dyno Testing, Tuning & Performance Services Agreement, which is incorporated into this purchase/authorization.

What actually happens
Your vehicle is mounted to a Mainline ProHub. The wheels come off and the hubs bolt directly to the drivetrain, which removes tire slip and roller losses from the measurement entirely. That is the difference between a number you can compare between visits and a number that changes with tire pressure.
We pull a baseline before touching anything. Then we work through fuelling, spark, torque management, throttle response and boost control together, watching knock, intake air temperature and lambda on every pass — because moving one of those without the others is how engines get hurt.
- Baseline and final pulled in the same session, same mounting, same operator
- Ambient temperature, humidity and barometric pressure recorded on every run
- Correction factor stated on the sheet — not applied quietly
What it costs, and why a factory ECU leaves with an RTD4
A Custom Dyno Tune is $500 of DEFI Custom Tuning plus a $350 Mainline dyno session, plus the HP Tuners licensing your controller needs. Pump gas and E85 maps are both included. Supercharged and halo platforms — C8 Z06, ZR1, E-Ray, Hellcat, Demon, Trackhawk, TRX, GT500, Escalade V, Blackwing, GT-R and Raptor — take $900 of tuning instead of $500.
On a factory ECU the RTD4 supports, the tune is written through a DEFI RTD4 that you keep — the Complete Tuning Package, $1,200 plus licensing. We do not flash an engineered calibration any other way: the file travels to the RTD4 encrypted and is written to the ECU locked, so it cannot be read back off the car and copied. It is also how every later revision reaches the car without another visit.
Standalone ECUs, and vehicles the RTD4 cannot connect to, are flashed with our own interface. Forced induction adds $600 and flex fuel $300, the same as on every tune.
What we will tell you before we start
If the combination will not support what you are asking for, we say so before the car goes on the dyno rather than after. That includes fuel system limits, clutch capacity, cooling, and the parts that were specified for the factory power figure and are about to see more.
Added power costs longevity, fuel economy and emissions compliance. A tuned vehicle is not smog-legal in California. We are not going to pretend otherwise to book a session.
What is included
- Pre-tune inspection and health check
- Baseline pull with conditions recorded
- Full calibration development under load — pump gas and E85 maps
- Datalogged verification pulls
- Complete dyno sheet — every run, not just the best one
- A DEFI RTD4 to keep, on every factory ECU it supports
What to bring
- A vehicle in good mechanical health — fresh plugs, no misfires, no pending codes
- A full tank of the fuel you actually intend to run
- Your modification list, including anything a previous shop did
- Any prior tune files or datalogs you have

Tuned on our dyno, and you leave with the RTD4 — so every later revision reaches the car without another visit. How every factory ECU the RTD4 supports is tuned in the shop.

What can be added, and what it costs
- Additional dyno time$350 per hourCharged in hour blocks when a session runs past its booking.
- Ignite Racing Fuel$80 per 5-gallon pailSupplied at the shop when the calibration calls for a fuel you did not arrive on.
- Wideband monitoringIncludedExternal wideband on every session. Not an upsell — it is how the car is kept safe.
Common questions
- How long does a session take?
- Most naturally aspirated and mild forced-induction cars are a single day. Complex builds, unfamiliar combinations and anything with drivability problems to solve take longer. We would rather book you a second day than rush the last third of the job.
- Do I have to buy an RTD4 for a dyno tune?
- On a factory ECU the RTD4 supports, yes — it is part of the Complete Tuning Package, $1,200 plus licensing, and you keep it. Our calibrations are written through it encrypted and locked, so they cannot be copied off the car, and it lets us revise the tune later without another visit. Standalone ECUs and vehicles the RTD4 cannot connect to are the exceptions, flashed with our own interface.
- Is the E85 map extra?
- No. A pump gas map and an E85 map are both included in the tune. Flex fuel, which adapts to any blend through a sensor, is $300 more.
- Do I get the dyno sheet?
- Always, and it is the complete sheet with conditions visible. Cropping a graph to the peak number is how the industry hides work it does not want compared.
- Can you tune my car if I bought parts elsewhere?
- Yes. We will tell you honestly if a part is a poor choice for your goal, but we are not going to require you to re-buy it from us.
