Accessibility

What we are aiming at

We build this site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 at Level AA. That is the target, not a certification, and we do not claim to have met it on every page of a site this size.

What we have built in

Deliberate choices rather than accidents:

• The whole site works from the keyboard, including the vehicle finder, the configurator and the cart.
• Text meets AA contrast against its background, and colour is never the only way information is conveyed.
• Every interactive control has an accessible name, and form fields have real labels rather than placeholder text standing in for one.
• Headings are a real outline rather than styling, so a screen reader can navigate the page structure.
• Layouts reflow to a phone without horizontal scrolling, and respect a larger text size.
• Motion is decorative only, and is reduced when your device asks for reduced motion.

Where we know it is weaker

Vehicle and dyno photography is still being catalogued, and some images carry weaker alternative text than they should. Dyno charts convey information visually; the figures behind them are given as text nearby, but the charts themselves are not a good experience on a screen reader.

We would rather say that than publish a statement claiming everything is perfect.
